Roots Youth Group
Teens in grades 7th through 12th can participate in Roots Youth Group. Students in 6th grade can choose to join in with Crossroads or Roots.
Youth Group Meetings Schedule
Roots meetings are held on Sundays. For now, our meeting times might vary depending on the current COVID situation. Please check our Calendar of Events page for up to date details.
Christian Education
During our youth group meetings, Roots teens discuss Christian educational topics. Teens have input into the selection of topics. In the spring, we will cover topics to help teens prepare for Confirmation, which will take place during the Bishop's visit.
Service Projects
Trunk or Treat is the major service event for Roots each year. This year's event will be part of the CEC Fall Festival. Children from the church and community are invited to come to Trunk or Treat to trick or treat from the trunks of our church member's vehicles. During this event, the teens help setup the event, run the carnival style games, and manage the food.
The week of Halloween, our teens will be trick or treating for canned goods. All food collected at this event will be donated to the Hill Country Community Ministries.
In the spring, the teens will also be in charge of running the Easter Egg Hunt for CEC.
Teens also have the opportunity to participate in other service projects, which are all voted on by the teens. From past years, the teens have been involved in: stuffing socks for the homeless, hosting a Bingo event for special needs teens and adults, participating in 30 Hour Famine, and being involved in CEC's 5th Sunday community service projects. Social Activities
The Roots teens will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of social activities this school year. Social activities are selected by the teens. Some of the social events from past years included: visiting a hay maze, meeting at movie theaters, ice skating, touring Main Street Bethlehem, having parties, swimming, hiking, etc. Check the Calendar of Events page for the most up to date information.
